Please recommend...
... Your mileage credit card or any commentary regarding the following iteneraries. Since I have to pay for, like, the bar and all in the next year, I want to at least get some 1st class upgrades or something. Here are some trips we may or must take in the next year or so:
San Francisco to Fort Meyers, Florida (must)
San Francisco to Palm Springs, CA (must)
San Francisco to...(these are all possibilities for a family trip and/ or bar break)
US Virgin Islands
Puerto Rico
Costa Rica
Thailand
Anywhere in Hawaii
Cabo San Lucas and vicinity
Uh, back to Belize
Australia
New Zealand
Other???

I'm not a huge fan of United. but they, along with their partners, go to almost all of those places from here. It's pretty easy to get United FF tickets to Kona (Big Island) and somewhat easy to get them to Kauai -- this is from my actual experience. Upgrades are hard to get if you're not a frequent flier. Any foreign destination outside of Mexico on a FF ticket has to be booked a year in advance (or 11 months, whatever their max window of time is).
Also look at American and who their partners are -- they're not as big out of SFO but you can still go to a lot of places with them, particularly via LA or Dallas.
can you actually fly commercial into Palm Springs? I'd probably fly to Ontario -- plus, you get to stop at the Cabazon outlets on the way! ;)
