Good bye, cruel apartment...

Through a great and random opportunity, we will be moving in July. To an apartment with 2 bedrooms. That is over 1,000 square feet -- over double the size of our current apartment!!! There will be non coin operated laundry right outside of the HUGE newly remodled kitchen. There is funky San Francisco - ness about it: wainscotting and molding and, well, it used to be a brothel. I can walk to school and we get to pick paint colors and, and, and. I am dizzy happy about it. I need to stop surfing for apartment goodies and start thinking about my upcoming 24 Hour Con Law take home.

For Zack

I agree with a lot of what A said. She is right that the legal field is a lot about legal snobbery and that in the Bay Area you've got: Stanford, Boalt, Hastings, and USF that all outrank GGU. That is not a judgment, it's just the reality. Not to mention Santa Clara, Davis, and McGeorge (other NorCal law schools). And, the bar passage rate at GGU is not great (around 54% I think). That said, I work with a ton of really smart, hard working GGU students. Perhaps because I am working in government work, the school ranking isn't as important as it is if you want to work at a firm. Why do you want to go to law school? I think that is the key question you have to ask yourself. You are going to spend a lot of money, a lot of time, and a lot of work in law school. It's an experience unlike any other, and not usually in a good way. But, the highs, while perhaps infrequent, have been really high and I would absolutely do it again. I love being in court. I am stimulated all the time. If I can manage to get a job in my chosen field, I anticipate being very happy with my career choice.

Good luck making your decision. E-mail me if you have more specific questions or if you want me to put you in touch with other GGU grads/ students.

Since New Year's Eve, I have managed to aviod that many cigarettes. I know this because I am about to cave and really want one and since the hubs still smokes I could easily have one right now. BUT, I checked my quit meter, pounded some water and am whining to my shrinking internet audience instead. Plus, I have, with the help of A and a commercial diet plan lost 3 of the pounds I gained since quitting.

In more interesting news... well, this is the time of year that I have even less than usual. I finished my seminar paper (woo - hoo!). I have 2 days of classes, 3 days of my internship and 3 finals standing between me, a trip to Belize, and an end to my second year of law school.

I am obsessed with this Web site.

Life, work, school. All have been somewhat on the crap scale lately. On Wed., I got light headed in the middle of my second class. By the end, I knew I had to go home. Glad I did because I got sick in an I can't be on campus for the rest of the day sort of way.

Things that have made me feel better:

1. A mid day pedicure at my absolute favorite place.

2. Shoe shopping after work. Where I found these affordable beauties. Beware, the picture makes them look a little scary purple. In life, they are a lovely rose color. It was between these and black patent peep toes. Feel free to share your thoughts. I have 30 days to return...
